Koppa, Chikkamagaluru: Two girl children died after accidentally falling into an open well while playing in the line houses of labourers in a coffee estate at Ammadi in Koppa taluk of Chikkamagaluru district.

The deceased are Seema (6) and Radhika (2), children of Sunitha Bai and Arjun Singh of Nazirabad of Madhya Pradesh.

While Arjun Singh is residing at Nazirabad. Sunitha along with her children had come to the estate for work. The incident occurred when Sunitha Bai was at work on Tuesday. When she returned in the evening, her children were nowehre to be found.

Suspecting that the children might have fallen into the well, locals began searching the surroundings. Seema's body was discovered in a well located 100 metres away from the house. Radhika's body was not found immediately.

The fire and rescue personnel rushed to the spot and carried out searches in the well and traced the body. Both bodies have been sent to the local government hospital. A case has been registered at the Koppa police station, and an investigation is under way.
