The arrested have been idenetified as Cyril D’Mellow of Mangalore and Rajesh Sequeira of Hosanagara in Shimoga. The duo were stealing diesel from MRPL - Bangalore pipeline by using a gatevalve and pipe.
Acting on a tip off, the police conducted the raid when the accused were filling the diesel into a tanker. Of the eight accused, six fled the spot. Police have also seized one tanker, one car, pipes, gatevalve.
The value of the seized property is Rs 15 lakh, police informed. A case has been registered.
Newly wed ends life
Newly married 21-year-old woman was found hanging from a beam of the well at Sajipa Nadu, Jakribettu in Bantwal taluk on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Fathimath Zohra (21), wife of Hameed (26), who is employed in a wood industry at Konaje. The incident came to light when the neighbours found the body hanging in the morning.

Police arrested two persons for murdering one Cauvery alias Kasturi Bai and burrying the body at Theerthamakki in Shankaranarayana police station limits on April 17. The arrested has been identified as Chandra Naika and Subraya Naika.
