About 20 families from Devarakolli and surrounding areas, which were provided shelter at three relief centres in Sampaje and Aranthodu, returned to their houses on Friday.
So far, 80 families have returned to their houses.
DC Sasikanth Senthil said teams have been constituted to inspect the condition of the houses of the victims and then allow them to occupy the houses.
Meanwhile, the search for the bodies of two people, who were washed away following massive landslide and flas=h flood at Jodupala, is on. The work on clearing the road at Jodupala is in progress.
The body of a woman was found amid a heap of wooden logs in Payaswini river near Jodupala landslide area on Friday. It is suspected that the body is that of a family member of Basappa. His wife Gauramma and relative Manjula’s bodies have not been traced so far.
Thekkila Community Centre Relief camp Nodal Officer Veerappa Gowda said seven families from Devarakolli have returned to their houses. A total of 92 persons are now provided shelter at the camp.
Kallugundi Relief Centre Nodal Officer Devaraj said 45 members returned to their houses from the camp. A total of 150 persons are at the camp.
KSNDMC Director G S Srinivasa Reddy said rain is likely to lash coastal and Malnad areas for the next two to three days following low pressure.
