More than 20 students and two teachers were injured when the school van in which they were travelling collided with a tractor near Narayanadasarahalli Gate in the taluk on Saturday evening.
The students and four teachers of the Lakshmividyaniketan School in Chikkadasarahalli were travelling in the school van through Chimangala when their van was struck by a stone-carrying tractor.
The van overturned, injuring more than 20 students and teachers Radhika and Smitha. The van driver was also hurt. All the injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital.
Hearing news of the accident, two guardians Narayanaswamy and Shankarappa, rushed to the hospital but themselves suffered an accident while on route and suffered minor injuries.
The police said that the school van had been travelling late because of a Ganesha idol immersion programme in the area.
