Minister of State for Primary and Secondary Education Kimmane Ratnakar has said that 229 private students studying in unauthorized schools would be allowed to attend SSLC exams this year. 

He was replying to questions raised by P V Krishna Bhat and Y A Narayanswamy (both BJP) in the legislative council on Thursday. “There are 40 unauthorised high schools. And, 12 schools which have 10th standard, would be allowed to write the exams,” he added. 

The minister said that in these schools, students who are above 15 years, have been allowed to appear for the exams. As per the new syllabus, the first language question paper would carry 125 marks and the rest five subjects would carry questions for 100 marks, he added.
