The deceased have been identified as Sugandhamma (28), Madhu (12), and Kiran (12). Madhu reportedly touched the live wire in a field near the village, and her mother Sugandhamma and cousin Kiran tried to save her, but they were also electrocuted.
Hadagali MLA Chandra Naik visited the spot and disbursed temporary compensation to the family of the deceased. He also assured to sanction Rs one lakh compensation on behalf of the Energy Department.
DySP Krishnamurthy Hoskote, Circle Police Inspector Chandrahas Laxman, In-charge Tahsildar Veeramallappa Pujar, and Gulbarga Electricity Supply Company (GESCOM) officials also visited the spot. A case has been registered at Ittagi police station.
