The arrested include Vishnu alias Devendra of Tallur village in Sorab taluk, Asha of Malavagoppa in Shimoga taluk and Lakshmi Poojari of Tombattu village in Udupi district who allegedly involved in naxal activities. It is said that the trio were arrested by Andhra Pradesh police and handed over to State police.
The trio figured in the list of Naxals released by State police recently. Vishnu is said to be leading a naxal dal in Malnad region and carried Rs three lakh reward on his head while Asha and Lakshmi carried reward of Rs one lakh each on their heads.
However, Superintendent of Police Murughan has denied the arrest.
