4 of family killed in cylinder blast

The deceased are Pawad Talwade (70), his wife Laxmi (60), their daughter Gayatri (35) and eight-year-old grandson Sargam.

The owner of the house, Usha Humanabade sustained serious burn injuries while trying to rescue the family.

The family was from Sirahatti village in Hukeri taluk, Belgaum district, and had moved to the city recently. The couple’s son, Mahendra Pal, works as an assistant manager in a private bank in the city and was at work when the accident occurred.

Police said the gas cylinder exploded into flames while the family was cooking food. Talwade died on the spot and the other three succumbed to the injuries while they were being taken to Hyderabad for further treatment.The New Town police have registered a case.
