Four persons suffered injuries in two separate incidents after rain lashed Bantwal taluk, Dakshina Kannada on Monday night.
Two suffered injuries when a coconut tree fell on the house following heavy rain at Rayi in Bantwal on Monday night.
The house belongs to Baby Narayana Poojary. The injured are Leela Poojary and her brother's son Nishanth. The injured were rushed to the hospital and are recovering.
Walls crack
The walls of the house have developed cracks and the roof tiles have also got damaged in the rain. In addition, the electric connection, TV and fan also got damaged. The loss has been estimated at Rs 1.5 lakh.
In a separate incident, two suffered injuries when lightning struck them at Kolnadu. The injured are Ismail and Jubaida. The house got damaged and electrical wires were burnt after lightning struck the house of Aboobakkar and Abdul Rahiman at Veerakamba.
