Subhas Karabhantnal (43), Anand Hiremath (38), Mallikarjun Kalasad (36) and Sunil Puthani (35) - all from Bijapur - were on their way to Shiradi in Maharashtra. The accident occurred at around 2.30 am, when a lorry bound to Rajasthan crashed into their vehicle. Police said rash driving by the lorry driver was the cause for the accident. The impact of the collision was such that both vehicles were reduced to a mangled mess.
