4 killed as KSRTC bus topples near Chitradurga

As many as four persons were killed and 20 people suffered serious injures after an Airavata (KSRTC) bus they were travelling by overturned near Seebara in Chitradurga taluk in the early hours of Monday.

According to the police, the deceased have been identified as Satish Ambekar (60) and Rohan Naik (35) both from Maharashtra, Muruganandan Kurupiyar (40) of Chennai, and Shwethashree (24) of Nasik in Maharashtra.

The police said that while the first three persons died on the spot. Shwethashree, a doctor by profession, died at a hospital in Davangere.

The injured have been admitted to district hospital, Chitradurga and are being treated by a team of doctors.

The bus was proceeding from Bengaluru to Mumbai.

A case has been registered at the Chitradurga Rural police station and further investigation is on .
