Four persons were killed and two seriously injured after a speeding truck rammed a stationary sports utility vehicle (SUV) on the outskirts of Nippani late on Tuesday night

Gireppa Bheemappa Belkud (21), Kareppa Bhimappa Daddi (21), both residents of Kankanwadi village in Raibag taluk, and Shivling Laxman Melvanki (23), resident of Nagnur village in Gokak taluk, were killed on the spot, while Bhimappa Laxman Hulgavi (23) died in the Kolhapur Hospital.
According to the police, the SUV was parked on the roadside after it suffered a flat tyre. The victims were travelling by the SUV to Kolhapur for selling vegetables.
