Four persons were killed on the spot and as many seriously injured when two trucks collided at Tattahalli in Nagamangala taluk on Sunday.

The dead are Meghana (16) and Shivalinga (45) from Kajjikalanakoppa village, Ugregowda (60) and Prasanna (14) from Bheemanahalli village. A seriously injured Doddonu, 50, a resident of Kalikoppa village, has been rushed to Mandya hospital.

Naveen (17), son of Shankar, Javarayya (30), son of Pujari Javarayya, both from Kajjikalanakoppa village, Javaregowda (67), son of Rudrayya from Palagrahara village, and Lakshmamma, wife of Channakeshava, and a resident of Bheemanahalli village, are seriously injured.

The victims were members of a marriage party that was returning home after attending the marriage at Tattahalli village. While negotiating a turn near Gurusetty Cross, a speeding lorry going towards Nagamangala in the opposite directions, brushed another truck with great force.
