Director General of Police Shankar Bidari has said that 400 police sub-inspectors and 6,000 constables would be appointed in the State soon.
During his visit to the Siddharooda Mutt here on Thursday, Bidari told mediapersons that the process of recruiting police sub-inspectors would begin in the month of January, and there is a plan to offer 10 per cent reservation to the children of policemen who are in service at present.
The process of recruiting 6,000 police constables has been completed, but appointment letters are not issued due to some technical reasons. They would be issued shortly, he said.
Bidari also clarified that ADGP A R Infant has not approached the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal (KAT) against his (Bidari’s) appointment to the post of DGP.
