The arrested are Tanaji Rathod, Zilla Panchayat Vice-President, Shivaji Rathod, husband of the Bellhalli Gram Panchayat president, Bheemanna, Srikanth - both GP members - and Shivashetty, the GP secretary. Suryavanshi had committed suicide at his residence on Wednesday evening.
Meanwhile, members of the district unit of the Karnataka State Panchayat Development Officers Association and the district unit of the Harlayya Samaj staged a protest in front of the deputy commissioner’s office on Thursday.
A memorandum submitted to the district administration by them stated that Suryavanshi, 25, was an honest official.
