The deceased are identified as Mallesh (25), Krishna (24) and Bhimanna (25) of Baddehalli in Syedpura police station limits; Vijayakumar (28) and his wife Devamma (24) of Ananthpur district in Andhra Pradesh.
While the four died on the spot, Devamma succumbed to injuries on way to the hospital. They were all working at a brick manufacturing unit, MMB factory in Choodagondanahalli of Lakkur hobli.
They were returning in a mini truck to the factory after unloading the bricks in Bangalore when the accident occurred. Dazzled by the headlight of the vehicle from the opposite direction, the truck driver failed to notice the lorry laden with eucalyptus wood, parked on the road and the mini truck rammed into the lorry, the police said.
