A 60-year-old woman was found hanging from a tree on the premises of the court here on Sunday.
Police have identified the dead as Nagavva Harijan, a resident of Kemmankoppa village in Gokak taluk.
Disappointed over the court verdict on the property dispute case against Nagavva, she might have taken the exteme step, according to the police.
The Market police have registered a case, and are investigating to ascertain whether it is a case of suicide or murder.
