Eight VVPAT machines were found in a makeshift shed at Managuli village in Basavanabagewadi taluk of Vijayapura district. The machines, with the help of which voters can confirm whether their choice has been registered in the EVM, were found in the shed meant for national highway workers.

The incident has raised eyebrows with candidates defeated in Assembly election claiming that the VVPAT machines were of their constituency and they had been shifted by the returning officers to ensure their defeat in the election. However, no paper was found in the machines. Managuli police have registered a case.
