Some unidentified miscreants gained entry into Ponnagiri Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple and decamped with property worth Rs 17,300 in Surathkal.

Police arrested five persons on the grounds of suspicion at Saligrama Car Street in Udupi taluk. The arrested are Geetha (20), Jyothi (29), Muthumery (28), Panchama (25) and Devi (20). A case has been registered.
