'92 schools closed in Chikmagalur'

The school should have a minimum of five students. The teachers and villagers were asked to enrol the students.  However, they could not increase the strength of students, said Deputy Director for Public Instructions  Ranganna.

Allowance

The students who were studying in the schools which have been closed will be given travel allowance of Rs 150 and have been shifted to neighbouring school.

Statistics

In Chikmagalur—26 school, Kadur—7 schools, Birur—9 schools. Traikere—4 schools, N R Pura—2 schools, Koppa—4 schools, Sringeri—9 schools and Mudigere—31 schools have been closed down.
