The government is completely ignoring the social justice in higher education, they charged.
As a result of this stand of the government, thousands of poor, dalit and talented students are deprived of higher education.
The ABVP activists threatened that they would intensify their agitation against the unscientific stand of the government.
Instead of being pro-poor, it was not right on the part of the government to be rubbing shoulders with the private managements who are profit oriented.
In the current academic year, the decision to give 10 per cent of the seats in engineering and 2 per cent in medical courses, 15 pc in dental courses to the management of the private colleges, is not a step in the right direction, they said expressing their displeasure.
The decision to hike the fees for engineering courses by Rs 5,000 was totally inhuman. This is ample evidence that the government is anti-poor.
The government should immediately withdraw its decision, they demanded.
