The High Court on Monday issued emergent notice to the Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI), after hearing an appeal to hand over the murder case of activist Siddalinga Prabhu to it.
Prabhu was murdered on November 17, 2011, following which, Basappa, his relative, had filed a petition alleging NICE Company MD Ashok Kheny and Kanteerava Studio president M Rudresh’s role in the murder. Justice B S Patil heard the petition.
The petitioner contended that despite the names of Kheny and others being mentioning in the First Information Report, the police records failed to register them. Instead, the police reported that the activist’s relatives were guilty. Hearing has been deferred.
