He was speaking at the pisciculture demonstration and field study programme organised at Mylappahalli by the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Fisheries Department and Bangalore Inland Fisheries Department.
He further said senior researchers and field assistants should impart technical knowledge to farmers and create awareness about pisciculture. He also urged farmers to make best use of such awareness programmes.
A field office has been established at Tippenahalli and at Kandawara Amani tank, a subsidiary watershed project, has also been implemented to create interest in pisciculture, he added.
