Justice H Billappa, who granted the conditional bail, directed Yeddyurappa to furnish a bond for Rs one lakh along with a surety.
The Court also asked him to surrender before the Lokayukta court within ten days and not to leave the country. The former chief minister was warned against tampering with evidence. The Court, while granting advance bail, considered the fact an appellate tribunal had dismissed an appeal by Kirloskar Shaw, one of the lowest bidders for the project, challenging the award of tender.
On July 27, JD(S) spokesperson YSVDatta had filed a private complaint in the Lokayukta court against Yeddyurappa stating that the tender for package-2 of the project was awarded to RNS-Jyothi Joint Venture, a highest bidder. Datta had alleged that as a quid pro quo, Prerana Trust and Sahyadri Diagnostics, run by Yeddyurappa’s family members received a total kickback of Rs 13 crore. The matter was referred to Lokayukta police for investigation.

The HC has ordered notice to the State on a petition seeking to remove a portrait of sage Valmiki from a public platform in Yelavar village, Jewargi taluk of Gulbarga district.
A dispute had arisen over members of Valmiki community unveiling a portrait of the sage on a public platform, despite opposition by another community. Tahsildar and police were present at the said event. Counsel for the petitioners, P N Hegde, submitted that earlier the police had booked a case against both the communities warning them against disturbing peace and tranquility.
Circle Inspector of Jewargi, who inspected the place on May 20, 2011 filed a report stating that the portrait would be unveiled the next day. The event went off in the presence of the tahsildar despite clamping prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC.
