The Lokayukta Court on Wednesday denied anticipatory bail to 61 assistant public prosecutors (APPs), accused of securing jobs through irregularities in the recruitment exam.

H T Ravi, an advocate from Thirthahalli, Shivamogga district, had made a complaint before the Lokayukta in 2012 alleging irregularities in the written exam. The Bengaluru Urban Lokayukta police had filed an additional charge sheet saying 61 APPs were beneficiaries of irregularities in the exam. Fearing arrest, the APPs had approached the court for advance bail.
