After polls, govt gets back to work

With the government turning its focus back on administration following the Lok Sabha polls, Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara said the Election Commission will be requested to relax the model code of conduct so as to take up development works.

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, who is set to resume office Friday, spent the day holding talks with Parameshwara and Water Resources Minister D K Shivakumar. They discussed monsoon preparedness, Bengaluru development, drinking water situation and the reservoir levels in the state, according to a statement from the chief minister’s office.

The chief minister also reviewed the drought situation, security in the backdrop of the Sri Lanka blasts.
