Age and physical disability was not a barrier for many who came enthusiastically to cast their votes in the polls held for all the four urban local bodies in the district.

Differently-abled Vasu aged 50 years was curious to cast his right. He said he would never miss such occasions.

Kariammam who is suffering from vision impairment said that she always casts her vote and she has not missed even a single election since she got her privilege.

Girijamma in Gundmi aged 88 years was brought to the polling booth with the help of her relatives.

Lakshmi aged 84 from Saligrama Chitrapadi said ‘voting is my right and I vote in all elections’.

Puttu Poojarthy from Church Road Kundapur who is aged 80 years said, although she finds it difficult to walk, she pesters her children to take her to polling booth so that she will not miss her voting.
