Speaking after inaugurating the programme, Udupi CMC President Dinaker Shetty said awareness programme on proper utilisation of fuel energy resources should be held at rural and urban levels.
Awareness should be created amongst the student community also. These measures may aid in the process of conservation of the available energy, he opined.
Delivering the special lecture on ‘Solar Energy,’ DK ZP member Pramod Kumar said solar energy will be an alternative power source. Solar energy should be encouraged in a much bigger way to solve the problem of the shortage of the power supply in the State. If public make use of the available solar energy, there is no need of mega power projects that pollute the environment, he said.
