Apart from the election officers from other taluks, the first, the second and the third (local) election officers crowded the College to collect polling materials.
The officers and staff were transported to their allotted poll booths in the taluk at around 3 pm through the KSRTC buses which had been especially organised to provide transportation. Jeeps had also been pressed into service for places where buses could not ply.
Additional police force has been deployed for free, fair and peaceful elections. A team, comprising Mahesh Vage of Vigilance Team, Dalasanuru Nanjunda Gowda, a police personnel and Ramesh, a videographer who are on a beat, will also keep a watch to prevent fake voters and code of conduct violations.The Team has already removed illegal banners and posters at Kantharaj Circle and Anantapur.
