Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa on Tuesday said former minister M H Ambareesh would have been a great leader if he had taken politics seriously.
“Instead of sitting at home, he should roam around his constituency. Plenty of opportunities will come his way in the Congress party. He (Ambareesh) is next only to thespian Rajkumar in popularity. But he (Ambareesh) lacks seriousness...The party has nothing to lose if he quits,” he told reporters on seeking his reaction to a speculation in the state political circles that the actor-politician may join BJP.
Asked about reports that senior leader S M Krishna may join BJP, Kagodu said those who do not attach any importance to principles join other parties. Congress is the only party that believes in social justice, he claimed.
