Caroline Margaret Rovli, an American bride, married Vikram Kamath, as per the Hindu tradition after acquiring the Hindu name 'Vishakha,' in Puttur on Sunday.

Vikram Kamath is a resident of Mangaluru and son of Sujatha Kamath while Caroline Margaret, who is an American citizen is the daughter of Thomas Michael and Selesthe Anne.

Caroline Margaret wore a traditional silk saree and entered into wedlock through sapta padi and exchange of garlands in the traditional way. Vikram Kamath from Mangaluru is employed in an insurance company in the US, while Caroline is working in an IT firm. Caroline and Kamath know each other for the last four years. The duo happened to meet in a restaurant on May 17, 2013. The two became friends and in the course of time, their friendship turned into love.

As the bride's parents were not present, a couple, Gopikrishna Shenoy and Radhika Shenoy took the role of Caroline's parents and completed the 'Kanyadana' ritual. The marriage ceremony was conducted by priest Diwakar Bhat and Jagannath Bhat.
