All anganwadi centres in the state will be facilitated with biometric system, said Women and Child Welfare Minister Jayamala.
Chairing a progress review meeting at the DC’s office on Monday, she said the anganwadi buildings in the state will be built in a uniform way.

. Woollen cloth, socks and umbrellas will be distributed to the children in the anganwadi centres falling under the regions receiving the highest amount of rainfall, she added.
Jayamala meanwhile directed the officials to ensure that the benefits of Mathrupoorna Scheme reach the pregnant and puerperal women. Anganwadi teachers should not be deployed to department works. Instead, services of retired teachers could be utilised towards the same, she said.
A child development project officer said that there are 13 anganwadis in Karike village and one anganwadi each in Makutta and Kutta in Virajpet.
The minister meanwhile asked the officials to provide basic facilities to differently abled. She said that the physically challenged should be provided jobs in the locality.
The official concerned said that there are 9,020 differently abled persons in the district.
The minister sought information on the measures taken by the administration towards providing housing facilities to the 69 physically handicapped persons who have lost their houses during the natural calamity in Kodagu.
Jayamala who also holds the portfolio of Kannada and Culture directed the officials to accelerate work on ‘Kannada Samucchaya Bhavana’ in Madikeri.
Deputy Commissioner P I Sreevidya, SP Suman D Pennekar and Kannada and Culture Department assistant director Darshana were present.
