Anveshana Prakashana bags best publisher award

 The Kannada Book Authority (Kannada Pustaka Pradhikara) has announced the annual awards for 2015, including the best publisher award and G P Rajarathnam Award.

Authority chairman Dr Banjagere Jayaprakash announced the awards in the city on Thursday. Bengaluru-based Anveshana Prakashana won the best publisher award. Set up in 1984, Anveshana Prakashana will receive a citation, along with cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.

“Shashikala Belagali from Davangere has been chosen for Dr G P Rajarathnam Award (Rs 50,000 cash prize), Dr S P Yoganna from Mysuru has bagged the Dr Anupama Niranjan Medical and Science Literature Award (Rs 25,000) and Dr B Seshadri from Ballari will be awarded Dr M M Kalaburgi Humanities Research Award (Rs 75,000),” said Jayaprakash at a press conference.

Besides, at least 25 young authors below 35 years, whose works have been published, will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 15,000, each.

“We had received 118 applications from young writers for the award. Among them, 25 have been chosen. Also, we are presenting awards for two best designers for cover pages of the books and three awards for publishers for quality and style of the books,” added Jayaprakash.
