At the foot of a towering baobab tree outside Senegal's capital Dakar on Saturday, cameras flashed in the waning dusklight

 An assistant engineer from the district, working for Border Roads Organisation of the Indian Army was among the three who were killed after a boulder fell on the jeep they were travelling at Poo, close to Shimla in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Vittala Revaneppa Boragi (51), a resident of Dindavara village in Basavana Bagewadi taluk. Basavaraja Yandigeri, Boragi’s sister’s son , said the Army officials told him that due to inclement weather in Himachal Pradesh, the body would be flown to New Delhi and then shifted to Boragi’s village.

Boragi was serving the Army for 31 years. He had come to his village on two-month leave and joined duty on February 11 after performing housewarming ceremony of his newly constructed house. He had also fixed the marriage of his son, his wife Jayashree Boragi said.
