Ashakiran students win 19 medals in natl level tourney

The students of Ashakiran Residential School for Blind Children have won 19 medals in the national-level tournament organised by Indian Blind Sports Association held at New Delhi recently.

The students have won 10 gold medals, three silver and six bronze medals.

The medal winners are—G R Prameela (gold in 800 metre and bronze in 400 metre race), R Rakshitha (gold in 400 metre race), V Radha (gold in 1500 metre and 400 metre race), A Punith (gold in 800 metre and 400 metre race), Abhijith (gold in 400 metre and silver in the 800 metre race), Soorya (silver in 400 metre), Sharath (gold in 5000 metre and 1500 metre race), Keshavamurthy (gold in 1500 metre), M P Narasaraja (silver in 400 metre), bronze in 4X400 metre relay by Keshavamurthy, Sharath, Soorya, and Narasaraja.

A total of 24 students from Ashakiran High School and PU college had taken part in the tournament, said coach Rahul Balakrishna.
