The Karnataka High Court has stayed the operation of its judgement directing the ACB to continue its probe with regard to BJP leader R Ashoka’s involvement in the bagair hukum land scam.
The court stayed the operation of its judgement for five weeks to enable Ashoka to challenge the high court’s judgement before the Supreme Court.
On Tuesday Justice R B Budihal had asked the ACB to continue its probe with regard to Ashoka’s involvement in the land scam. According to the FIR registered by the ACB, Ashoka, who was chairman of Bengaluru South taluk bagair hukum land regularisation committee from 1998 to 2006, was also one of the beneficiaries of the scam. The ACB contended that prima facie, there was a strong case against Ashoka.
The court had dismissed the plea of Ashoka who had moved the court seeking quashing of the FIR filed against him by the ACB.
