Condemning the atrocity on Ayyappa devotees and BJP activists by the Kerala police, Ayyappa Swamy Kshethra Rakshana Samithi members staged a protest in Chikkamagaluru on Tuesday.

The protesters took out a procession from Omkareshwara temple to Azad Park Circle and demanded protection to the sanctity of Sabarimala temple.

They accused the Kerala government of following anti-Hindu policy. They demanded the government to file a writ appeal in the Supreme Court to protect the sanctity of Sabarimala temple.

District BJP unit president D N Jeevaraj said, “BJP will oppose any decisions that hurt the sentiments of the Hindus. Sabarimala has a history of over 800 years. It is not right to allow the entry of women of all ages to Sabarimala. The temple has been following a tradition which should be respected.”
