The BJP has decided to make recent killing of Hindus and failure of government to rescue distressed farmers as its the main plank in the coming Assembly elections.
BJP national general secretary in-charge of Karnataka BJP P Muralidhar Rao on Thursday said the 90-day Nava Karnataka Nirmana Parivarthan Yatra will conclude with Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing a "record breaking" convention in Bengaluru on February 4.
"In a bid to keep the momentum going ahead of the polls, the BJP will hammer the ruling Congress for failing on the agricultural front leading to farmers suicide and insensitivity towards the killing of Hindu workers", Rao said.
The BJP office in Malleswaram was a beehive of activity with the party functionaries and top state leaders holding a series of meetings to work out details of the February 4 rally and chalk out the party's political campaign plans ahead of the polls.
Rao came down heavily on the state government for not availing of the Centre's pro-farmer schemes such as soil health cards for farmers and Fasal Bhima Yojana. "The Centre is keen on promoting Karnataka but the state government has become a road block," he said.
He said killing of the Hindus will be a major campaign issue for the party. "(Chief Minister) Siddaramaiah calling the BJP 'terrorist'is unacceptable. The Congress is communalising the atmosphere in the state but its high command is not even taking a note of it," he said.
He said the party's plan to come out with constituency-wise charge sheet against the government will be completed soon.
He said selection of the candidates for the Assembly polls will be made in a scientific way.
