The board, entrusted with the responsibility to supply drinking water to Bangaloreans, had envisaged piping in water from Krishna as one of the options to meet the drinking water demand in the days to come. Board chairman Ramamurthy, in one of his presentations to the Chief Minister, had said 12 tmcft water could be brought to Bangalore. The project included laying pipeline for 400 km. Former minister Katta Subra- manya Naidu had said that the board was working out a project to bring water from Krishna to Bangalore, but recanted on his statement.
