The award was given to Mahadevappa at the 2nd Agricultural Leadership Summit, by the Deputy Chairman for Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia in New Delhi last week.
Mahadevappa won the award for his contributions to the field of agriculture through research, education and new project initiatives spanning over four decades. The retired V-C was also a former member of the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board.
