Flaying the act as anti-Hindu, the agitators claimed that according to the new act, a person can be arrested and punished based on a complaint lodged by any one belonging to minority community like Islam and Christianity.
The agitators who took out a protest march from the Silver Jubilee Park arrived at the bus stand circle and vent their ire by burning the effigy of Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
Memorandum
Later, they proceeded to the deputy commissioner’s office and submitted a memorandum. Siddaraju, Ramu, Panchakshar and others participated in the protest.
Similar protests were held in all the taluks of Hassan and Chamarajanagar districts.
