Bajrang Dal membership campaign from August 15

Addressing reporters here on Thursday, he said “cow is the economic backbone of rural India. Hence, we will bring all youths of the nation together to demand a complete ban on Gohatya.”  About 25 lakh youths will be made members of Bajrang Dal through a membership campaign which will be held between August 15 to September 15, he said.

Units will be opened in all districts in the nation and local committees will be formed in each villages, he added. The Bajrang Dal, which has completed 25 years, has served in many ways for the preservation of Hindu religion and culture, Chauhan said. Chauhan urged the State government to convert the Hanuman Janmasthan located in Hampi as a national centre for youth inspiration.

New chief for Bajrang Dal

Former Bajrang Dal joint convenor Sooryanarayana has been appointed as the state convenor for the organisation at a VHP convention, Chauhan said. Meanwhile, B Manjunath from Mandya has been chosen as the joint convenor, he added.

Against untouchability

Sooryanarayana told reporters that the Bajrang Dal will fight for the eradication of untouchability in the State. “Bajrang Dal will provide opportunities even for Dalits and backward community members to become temple priests. Organisation will also fight to eradicate the evil practices of untouchability prevailing in all Hindu temples,” he asserted. Further, talking about religious conversion, he said that Bajrang Dal will oppose the forceful conversion.
