Karnataka Hindu Jagarana Vedike today threatened to take up rigorous protest if the government fails to introduce anti-cow slaughter and anti-conversion law in the State.

Speaking to the media here on Thursday, State Coordinator Jagadish Karanth informed that the Vedike is forwarding a memorandum to Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa through the DCs of all the districts in the State as an initial step towards condemning the lackadaisical attitude of the government regarding their demands. The Vedike is organising ‘Bangalore Chalo’ programme on December 21 demanding stringent laws against cow slaughter and conversion. A demand memorandum attested by as many as 5 lakh people will be forwarded to the Chief Minister on the occasion. Vedike will hold hunger strike in each taluk centre in November and one day protest in September in all district centres, he said.
