Four gutkha manufacturing companies, including Ghodawat Pan Masala Products, on Friday filed a writ petition before the High Court Circuit Bench, Dharwad, challenging the ban on gutkha.
The petitioners stated that the State government’s decision was unilateral and have urged the High Court to direct the government to withdraw its order. The writ petition was admitted by the single-bench headed by Justice B S Patil, who posted the hearing to June 11.
