Grand Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations began in Belagavi with Municipal Administration and district-incharge Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, inaugurating the event at CPEd grounds here on Thursday.
Jarkiholi hoisted the national flag and paid floral tributes to goddess Bhuvaneshwari. He inspected the parade and awarded district level Rajyotsava awardees.
The main procession began at the CPEd ground. Tableaux of various government departments and Kannada organisations showcased their achievements.
People thronged Channamma Circle where tableaux from different areas, joined the main procession.
