The BMRCL has decided to upgrade the security by including a quick reaction team to make sure that commuters get maximum protection at Metro stations.

As many as 100 armed members from Karnataka Industrial Security Force will provide security to Metro stations and commuters.

The members have received one-year training at a facility in Hyderabad designed to train Central Industrial Security Force. In addition, they have been trained in counter-terrorism tactics for 40 days at a special programme.

Teams of seven
They will be divided into teams of seven members led by a sub inspector. “The teams work under the direction of an official of the Lt Colonel or Brigadier rank when they need to react quickly during emergency situations.

Metro stations start operations at 5 am. We start our work even before and ensure security in the stations till the departure of the last train,” said an official who is part of the team.
