The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) will organise a two-day travel mart in the City starting Sunday. As many as 1,750 delegates and officers will participate, said Tourism Minister R V Deshpande on Friday.

Speaking to mediapersons after inspecting preparations for the event at the Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre, Deshpande directed all officials to ensure that areas below flyovers and vacant sites are neat and clean. This is to ensure that delegates get a clean and green experience of the City, he said. The minister pulled up BDA officials for the absence of their Chairman T Sham Bhat at the venue and related meetings.

Around 350 stalls will be set up and 750 officials will host 1,000 delegates from 61 countries. The delegates on Thursday visited Bangalore Palace, Lalbagh and Vidhana Soudha. The department has also organised Golden Chariot, a luxury express tour on September 8.
The delegates will be taken to Kabini and Mysuru from September 9 to 11. The delegates can also pay a nominal amount and travel across the State until September 14.
