The first threat email was sent at 5.11 pm on June 13 to the official email ID of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) that handles airport security.

The email by chitrakalas_gopalan@outlook.com claimed that explosives were planted on the airport premises.

"Madras Tigers: Human IEDs to detonet near Fuselage/Airport Prayer Rooms. Evacuate All Soon! (sic)” the email read.

The second email was sent on June 16 at 10.18 pm to the engagement centre at the airport.

The email from alex_paul_menon@hotmail.com (Hotmail ID) also name-dropped terrorist Ajmal Kasab.

"The IED in two places are like a puzzle, solve one to solve the other. We have RFID to remote detonate if plan A fails. this holy day, Economist Jeyaranjan and Bengaluru Airport Restroom/Pipelines will face a severe pipe bomb blast to commemorate the unfair hanging of Ajmal Kasab Bhai and Savukku Shakar illegal detention by Pallan A Arun IPS (sic)" the email read.

The authorities then formed a bomb threat assessment committee (BTAC) and, after thorough examinations, declared both threats a hoax. The airport police have registered two FIRs. Further probe is underway.
