The Lokayukta police on Wednesday conducted raids on illegal granite quarries in and around Kukanur and registered cases against as many as 23 persons.
Four teams of Lokayukta police swooped down on granite units in Gudneppanamutt, Gavaral, Kallur and Benakal villages in the taluk.
The raids were led by Raichur Lokayukta Superintendent of Police A H Chippara, an official said.
