23-year-old killed in hit-and-run incident

Bengaluru: A 23-year-old man died in a fatal hit-and-run after being struck by a speeding pick-up truck on Budigere Road around 2 am on Tuesday.

The victim, Vijay Kumar, from Bihar, was on his way to the KR Puram railway station to pick up his elder brother when the goods vehicle, allegedly driven negligently, hit him head-on, causing severe injuries.

Kumar succumbed to his injuries while being taken to the hospital.

The Chikkajala traffic police have registered a case, and efforts are underway to trace the driver, who remains at large.
